Don’t know if you’re still doing this but has anyone asked about inks smoochability?

It's been a year since I've done anything with the smoochability ratings, but hey. There were a few skeletons I hadn't done this for, and Ink was one of them, so I figured I might as well :P

All my logic is under the cut if you wanna look at it, but at the end of the day, Ink gets a smoochability rating of 9. He's one of the safer options, surprisingly enough, so if you'd like to smooch him, go right on ahead. Just be prepared; he could end up accidentally nipping or throwing up ink on you if you get him too excited

1) Is Ink's mouth dangerous at all? I don't believe it would be. His teeth are flat and standard, though I've seen some depictions of him that had little fangs, too. There are no parasites in there, no mysterious diseases/viruses you could catch, and a kiss wouldn't kill you; in fact, the worst thing that could happen would be Ink getting too excited and throwing up ink in your mouth and on you in general. While that's incredibly gross to think about, that's more of a health hazard than a danger factor, since if you kiss him, you'll at least leave without having any blood drawn. So, 2 points for safety

2) Would he bite? Not intentionally. While he IS like adhd incarnate and while he DOES do things that are a bit impulsive (see: everything involving taunting Error), I would assume he knows that biting people is bad. There is a chance that he might bite accidentally if startled, but for the most part, no, I don't see him being a biter. 2 points for not munching on anyone's lips

3) Are there any health hazards to the smoocher? Uhhhh yeah. It's the fact that if he gets too excited, he vomits ink. That in and of itself is gross, but not overly harmful. Then again though, there are different types of ink that exist, and we don't know what specific type he vomits. The impact that accidentally swallowing it might have on a human person could vary, depending on what exactly the type is. Worst case scenario, it's toxic and you need your stomach pumped asap to get it out, and best case scenario, it's yuckydisgusting and only makes you slightly sick for a short amount of time. The hazard level is up for debate here, but I'll still give him at least 1 point since death is not a guaranteed outcome

4) Does he have a sympathetic backstory? Sort of?? I know he was from an incomplete AU and was sorta. Left alone in the vast nothingness, until creators' feelings started raining down on him and he started experimenting with them. It'd really suck to be the only vaguely self aware person from your home, and then be alone eventually, surrounded by nothingness, so that does give me at least a little sympathy. So,, 1 point. It's very unfortunate, but it's not sad enough that I feel like crying over it

5) Does he deserve a smooch? Ehhhh, this one is up for debate. Personally, I'd say no, since from what I know and remember of his canon story, he never really did anything that would make him deserving of a smooch. 1 point, since maybe under the right circumstances he'd be deserving, but as is, I'm not really feeling it

6) Is Ink cute or cool? In a way, yeah, he could be considered cute and cool. He's cute in the "small guy with 0 thoughts behind those eyes" sense, and then he's cool design-wise. His first design was interesting and unique, but it had a lot going on, and then his updated design has less going on visually, but it's still pretty interesting and unique. If I was shown a silhouette of him, I'd be able to identify who he was, so. 2 points

When we add up all of our points and take everything into consideration, Ink is a 9 out of 12 :P he's a safer option, but even then, he could still unintentionally give you a nasty surprise. This is the part where I'd add in a scenario to kinda lay out how it'd go, but like. It's hot here. I'm feeling lazy, and thinking is Hard right now. I have a first kiss master list in my pinned post, which could be something to consider checking out if you're curious at all!

I'm really sad that I got into Sanji/Nami/Usopp so late into my serious OP fan days because it means I only wrote one fic for it and honestly I should have been out here pushing my rare trio from the beginning because IT'S SO GOOD

like I'm already drawn to any combo of pairings between the original East Blue Crew to begin with because like... I love all the characters a lot (especially Robin) but there's something about the OG five, like they're the ones who faced Arlong together, they're the ones who entered the Grand Line together, like there's something just special about that, an experience you can't take away.

but then combining those three in particular...

first of all I feel like they fit for me because they are like the most... Normal People (tm) of the Straw Hats (this is a very relative designation lol). and I feel like most people would agree with that for Nami and Usopp but Sanji is a harder sell, because he's part of the monster trio, and he has an absolutely insane backstory, BUT 1) Sanji has the most Normal Job, he's done actual work under a boss, he's been a waiter, 2) Sanji's True Insane Backstory came so late in the game it can't erase the decade+ of him being just the guy who wears Doskoi Panda aprons and washes dishes and is just Real Good At Kicking for some reason. and like in general Sanji's reactions to things happening usually line up more with Nami and Usopp's in terms of like, reacting like a normal person to the insane shit that is happening all the time, even if he knows he can kick the insane shit in the face

also there's just the fact that Usopp is afraid of everything but not bugs, while Nami and Sanji are terrified of bugs, which is especially funny in Sanji's case, like Usopp is already filling a crucial spot in the dynamic here as "partner that gets rid of spiders"

ANYWAY UH

Usopp and Nami especially as the most Normal People (tm) have a really strong bond and you also always get the vibe that the two of them probably spend a lot of time dishing gossip with each other while between islands, like Usopp and Nami definitely vibe with each other when Usopp isn't acting like one of the kids. and it's easy to slot Sanji into that catty dynamic, too. also while Sanji still has a very "ew men" attitude toward Usopp, it's always felt a bit more dialed back? maybe it's just because if Sanji actually kicked Usopp for real he would turn every bone in Usopp's body to dust LOL but there's lots of moments of Sanji just interacting very cutely with Usopp, and they'll dance together and stuff like that, IDK IT'S ADORABLE I have always loved them platonically and the romantic step of SanUso was kind of obvious

and then I already shipped SaNa before so that all slots together

and they have lots of great moments as a trio, I haven't been caught up with OP in years so there's probably even more I don't know about, but obvious ones off the top of my head are everything that happens in Skypiea and a good chunk of Thriller Bark.

I really don't think Redacted Audio deserves all the money he makes on Patreon (with 4.5k to 5k patrons depending on the time of the month and most of them being at or above the $7 tier...it is likely around/over $400,000 a year). This isn't even about other anons' qualms over getting one BA a month over there for all that money or me thinking he has no talent at all. His work is fine. His BAs are fine. The audios are fine (especially rn; maybe around Inversion time I would have thought a little more highly). His writing is fine. His characterization, worldbuilding, plot, pacing. Fine, fine, fine. It's all just fine. Middle-of-the-road, middling, a solid C (not a plus nor a minus just a C). $400,000 a year for a continuous stream of mid currently.

I don't know if it's a microcosm of the Mediocre White Man phenomenon or people just wanting their porn really, really badly (por qué no los dos?) that's making This Guy the one that excels in this space financially, but I don't even need multiple BAs a month or him to be more consistent with early access.

I would just like for him to try harder.

Do more with the narrative possibilities, do more character studies especially with the types of backstories some of them have, explore more dynamics, utilize the contemporary fantasy worldbuilding already here into things more, be better at foreshadowing and suspense, be a lot better at set-up and payoff in plot, have more conflict and tension to show who these characters are more or who they could be (doesn't only mean Inversion-sized conflict, there's conflict and tension in the internal, in everyday things too). Try harder to give the audience captivating and engaging storytelling with these characters we already like. Give us more than near back-to-back audios of you breathing on the mic pretending to sleep or another storm comfort audio instead of an audio helping us get to know a new listener better or six weeks of summer audios that, yes, included cute smooching, but did not show anything new in terms of relationship development/dynamic (except maybe Lasko this year; compared to getting Hux/Damien, learning more about Vincent, and setting up more conflict with Cutie/Geordi last year).

At least, try to deserve that $400,000 at least.

Okay I have overlooked this one I noticed just now. I'm going to talk about my growing passion for Ryder during the last eight months.

This one was the very first I took of him back in September, 18, 2022:

When I was taking this shot, I was not satisfied with him at first. I liked his all wearing black style concept I chose for him and I knew he was going to be named 'Ryder von Scharfenberg' (his name circled around in my head ever since I defined Vijay's name) but I had a hard time getting used to him. Yes, I had a lot of doubts about him. Here a few more from that shoot:

The main reason why I was uncertain about him at first may have been when I was in the character creator I first had an overall look on mind without a beard. I wanted yellow eyes for him at first (this mod, forth pic) which I did not get to work back then — my knowledge about using mods was all new and lacking, in general adding mods for him was not easy for me (today it's peanuts). This alone made me be a already a little frustrated because I was unable to give him that color bc I was too dumb to get it working.

I intended to use some longer hair with a sidecut at first for him as well and wanted different eye make up for him trying out a mod. It was one of Anrui's Visual Kei Parlor mods (think look 4 and 5). I do love V-kei a lot and for some reason I was picturing Ryder more in a dark V-Kei style at first, which did not work out either — I got the mod working but he looked super strange to me once I made the decision of his facial parts, so I decided to look for another hair mod and found Kala's Liam hair, that made him overall look more appealing.

Yet I was still not satisfied — so, I deleted the make up mod and went for complete vanilla eyebrows and make up. Lastly I added his eye cyberware (also vanilla) and decided for a beard. Once I gave him his beard I was even more content with him (I was used to have a beard bc of Vijay having one as well). And since that eye mod didn't work either I put back in the ones I used for Vijay and decided for those white glowing circles instead.

That is how Ry came to life how he looks now. Only thing I changed for him afterward was giving him another vanilla body skin (he's the only one without unique V rig), removing the 'stickers' via Halk's Sticker Yeeter mod from his mantis arms and added his sharky teeth by Anrui and a while later some pointy nails as well.

Then I went on taking pics and he still felt super strange to me. I explain it to myself that way: Ryder is the entire opposite of Vijay. V being all cute and smiling and then suddenly there was this dark themed dude I made a German looking at me so judgingly like I do too, I couldn't really cope with.

The result were some of those pics I still do like but would do them differently today (e.g. other FOV and lights + less saturated):

The more photos I took of him, and the more I developed him via tumblr asks and talking with others about him the more he grew onto me. It got so far that he was suddenly liked more than Vijay and literally stole the show (which made me a bit sad as well bc I thought V should receive the same love as Ry did).

Next big thing I started liking him more were the Konpeki Plaza pics I took in front of the red light. This was the time I started writing out Ry's backstory. It was also the first time I made him smile — ever since then I couldn't get out that smile of my head. When I look at him sometimes he's like a total 'Lausbub' to me. About to make some prank. I can't describe it. He suddenly gave off some vibe I felt that was fitting so damn good to him even though he's that dark guy who can stare so frightening at ya with his gaze that blood could freeze in your veins.

I just wanna smooch him asdxfcgvbhj is sometimes all I can think.

At this point he must have finally persuaded me. I love him to every tiny pixel and it's gotten worse since I wrote down his first two backstory parts. Hell, it got so worse I created another char just so he has someone he can love as well because it made me sad he was so lonely for half a year. Yes, Ry was the reason I created Thyjs. I still can't believe it. Thyjs would probably never exist if Ry did not grew so much onto me. Jeeez. So if you love Thyjs: thank Ryder for existing!

Literally every shot I did with him turned out better and better. Ryder for me is the most photogenic of all my four boys. I love when he's angry and bares his teeth, I love it even more when he gives a warm smile or any other stupid face he makes. everything suits him! (with Vijay, Jaysen and Thyjs it does not work that good).

I swear every new pic I take of him, it's like he plays more and more with the camera. Like he's gotten used to someone taking pics of him at some point — some kind of a warm-up. It truly feels like when I was taking pics of someone else in a cosplay, we didn't know each other, met at the next con, I took pics again, we somehow got mutuals and ended up taking more pics, and all was suddenly easy going. That is how it is with Ry each time.

The beauty that radiates out of him and the way he looks into the camera (or not) has me marveling at him. I know it is me doing his posing, chosing his expression and where he should look at. Believe me, literally 20% of my pics I take are planned. 80% of the time it is just me wanting to take pretty blorbo pics not thinking about anything. I set Ry in pose and he magically looks at me like this. All I need to do is move the camera around him, maybe adjust the direction he should look at and that's it.

TEEHEE help!! of course ill tell you about me and kou, you’re spoiling ME right now!! >.< me n kou don’t have tootoo much of an interesting backstory (the lore does tend to change… sobs) but i will indulge since miss aimsies asked!!

basically we met back in highschool, i was super duper shy when it came to people i didn’t know </3 but i had seen him once in the courtyard and was like “°-° who is that fine man…” HELP.

i ended up seeing him around more since we were in the same grade, i accidentally quite literally bumped into him looking for a club to join (made a fool of myself i was super embarrassed, but hey beefy chest!!) and obviously, he suggested the volleyball club <3 took some convincing but the coach thought “hey, we could use another manager with bokuto on our team!” LMAOO!!

anywhosies, i joined as manager and got realreal close with the team (and obviously had a huge ginormous crush on bokuto) but kept it veryyyy quiet because i was too nervous to do anything… sigh. i only told the girls!!

one day i was just talking to the managers about him, and SOMEONE☝️ (konoha) overheard me !! he didn’t think twice before blurting a little too loudly “you have a crush on bokuto?!” UGHHH KONOHA AND HIS LOUDMOUTH!!! </333

everyone was just dead silent and i just walked out of the gym… i was so upset and embarrassed i didn’t even know what to do sigh. (little did i know the girls were absolutely screaming at konoha for it, poor guy HELP… and akaashi was with bokuto like “wtf just happened…”) but kou got super excited about it!! he had a big huge crush on me the whole time and i had no clue yet SOBS

kou eventually found me and gave me a big huge hug telling me the feeling was mutual in his own bokuto way <3 i was so close to sobbing because UGH he���s such a sweetheart i could smooch him forever and ever, i was so shocked and my shy self was just like “oh he likes me back and im kinda dumb! HE’S ALSO HUGGING ME RIGHT NOW!!! WHAT DO I DO!!!!” WAHHH (and i forgave konoha, i couldn’t hold a grudge to save my life!)

and yeah that’s a lil tidbit of just one of my favorite silly cliche backstories to think about teehee!!

Heartstopper for the fandom asks?

Hello lovely, thank you for the ask <3.

Heartstopper

The first character I first fell in love with:  Since we first see Nick through Charlie's POV, I'd have to say Nick. He was just so sweet and yet unattainable (or so we thought) in the beginning.

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now:  Tao. Tao is kind of prickly in a group of mostly sweet characters, but he definitely grew on me, especially in season 2 of the show as we got to know him better.

The character everyone else loves that I don’t:  There aren't that many characters in Heartstopper that I don't like or that I find other people like that I don't.

The character I love that everyone else hates: I feel for Charlie's mom. She's too harsh with him, but after we find out a bit about her backstory, her reactions come into focus more clearly.

The character I used to love but don’t any longer: I haven't really had any characters in this universe that I originally liked but now don't.

The character I would totally smooch: Hmm...maybe Tori? All of the characters are coupled up so cutely, I can't get between them.

The character I’d want to be like: Maybe Mr. Ajayi? I love how he supports Charlie. And also how he gently lets Mr. Farouk know he likes him, and goes for it.

The character I’d slap: Harry. For sure.

A pairing that I love: All of them, but I have a soft spot for Mr. Farouk and Mr. Ajayi.

A pairing that I despise: None really.

cant believe no ones asked about cross's smoochability yet

Well guys, it looks like we’ve got our first perfect score! Cross got a rating of 12 out 12, so he’s the perfect candidate to be smooched

1) Is Cross’s mouth dangerous at all? From what I know, he has these tiny little fangs, as opposed to the standard flat teeth that most Sanses seem to have. His fangs could poke your lips, but not enough to do seriously injure you or draw blood, so that being said, his mouth is safe. 2 points for mouth safety

2) Would he bite? Not intentionally. I could see him maybe nipping a little on accident if the kiss is done in more of a clumsy sort of way, but he doesn’t seem like someone who’d purposely bite super hard with the intention of causing pain. Is he aggressive? He can be if the situation calls for it, since he’s not afraid to put his foot down. Most of the time and in casual settings though, no, I don’t see him as being an aggressive person. That being said, he gets 2 points for being nice and exercising self control

3) Are there any health hazards to the smoocher? That we know of, no there’s not. He’s clean and he keeps up with his hygiene, he’s not leaking gross fluids everywhere, and while he does carry weapons, he’s a former guard, so I’d assume he knows how to be safe about how he carries and handles them, to avoid accidentally hurting anyone. X!Gaster manipulating him in Underverse aside, I don’t see any health hazards about him, so there’s 2 more

4) Does he have a sympathetic backstory? From what I know about him and his whole story, he has a very fragmented relationship with his brother, because he wanted his own identity outside of being a Sans, and Paps didn’t really seem to fully grasp that. I could be missing details about their relationship, but I just know they don’t get along. Then there’s the issue with X!Gaster being a horrible father who was never there for either of his sons. He was emotionally absent, and he seemed entirely unconcerned about them (just from what I’ve seen and what I know). So right there, Cross has this horrible family structure; he’s got both sibling issues and daddy issues. Then from the little information I can recall right now, he got into it with Error and nearly died somehow, and then he was manipulated into working for Nightmare. Which… as much as I like Nightmare, he’s not a nice person. Cross went from a very shaky home environment, to a very shaky work environment, where he couldn’t really count on anyone. His only friend for a while was Ink, but we see how well that went over in Underverse. Things started to turn around for him when he left Nightmare and started working with Dream instead, but there’s no doubt that he probably still has a lot of residual trauma from everything. So for points, I think he deserves 2. His upbringing and backstory in general was super rough and there were areas that were very tragic for him, no doubt

5) Does he deserve a smooch? In short,, yes, absolutely. He had a very rough upbringing and it probably took a bit for him to actually open up to anyone, but rather than letting that consume him and turning completely bad and evil because of it, he made the choice to be better than that. He still had anxiety and probably some other issues too, but he chose to walk away from the toxic environment that was working for Nightmare. He walked away, and he went with Dream, who made him feel like more of an equal, and less of a subordinate. Cross walked away and made the choice to be better than his former boss and teammates, which paved the way for a somewhat brighter future. He made the right choices and he has my respect for that, so he gets 2 points

6) Is Cross cute or cool? He can be a cutie from time to time, and I do like his design, since the monochrome look is unique to him, I think. There are probably other Sanses that are monochrome too, but of them all, I think he’s the most well known. His strength and skills in combat, his laidback personality, and his look (despite being a bit rough around the edges) earn him a full 2 points for coolness

In total, Cross gets a rating of 12. He gets a perfect score! He’s awkward and may not have a lot of kissing experience, but he’s very careful about pretty much everything he does. I feel like if he was smooched, he’d get embarrassed, start blushing, and probably trip over his words for a moment before simply asking why you suddenly smooched him. If you already knew him really well when you chose to plant a kiss on him, he might even awkwardly thank you for it while trying to avoid eye contact, because he’s a bit of a tsundere from time to time like that
